The tropical home decor is one of the most popular home decor that is being adopted today. The fabrics used in a tropical home decor are also soft and lush. Ottomans, pillows and most accessories including the chair coverings and upholstery are done with leaf designs and jungle prints.

Wood flooring are required to complete the feeling of warmth where typically, lighter colored wood is for flooring accented by chairs and tables that are normally with a darker hue. Tiles and stone are also great alternatives. The shades of the lamps are often made of cloth to provide a more complete look.

Animal designs and images of the wild are prominent. Hides could also be hanged on the walls in place of the more traditional wall artwork pieces.

Large plants are added to create a tropical home decor atmosphere while accessories are made to the minimum to prevent over decorating. The plants that are usually placed in corners illuminated with lights and the tropical prints are where the attention of the eye is supposed to be directed.

Little things are also avoided if not kept to the minimum to prevent the tropical home decor from becoming overwhelming to the eye, as the large-scale accessories that are used could be enough.

Window treatment for a tropical home decor should be made as much as possible to exhibit natural qualities. Bamboo blinds plantation panels and matchsticks provide a breezy carefree look.

Fabrics that are used for a tropical home decor must exhibit lightness and made from natural fibers. Likewise, baskets, rattan, grasscloth, wicker chairs, wall coverings folding screens and cornice boards are lavishly used.

Tropical home decor artwork follows the tropical theme all throughout. Colors and hues are typically cold, yellows, ivory browns and greens.

Stone tableware looks best in a tropical home decor style. Loosely woven fabric in tablecloths, napkins are complemented by sturdy looking glassware.
